Author Visits
Author Kimberly A. Hemmings is ready to soar into your school for a fun and educational author visit!
Students will hear the author read her catchy, rhyming picture book, participate in fun, educational activities, and have the opportunity to ask the author questions. Students will also be able to purchase autographed copies of the author’s book! Both classroom visits and grade level visits are available!

About the Author:
I am Kimberly A. Hemmings, an elementary educator of 20 years and a children’s book author. Reading books has always been a passion of mine, ever since I was very young. I loved the magical way books could expand my imagination, taking me to places far, far away. My favorite books as a child were rhyming books. My mother also loved rhyme and often made up rhyming chants and songs that she would sing daily to my sister and me. My love of rhyme and reading followed me into adulthood.
As an adult, I grew to love writing as well, my favorite being writing in rhyme. I finally decided to share my passion of both writing and traveling by creating the Ace and Grace Travel Books series. I received inspiration for these stories from my numerous travels around the world with my family. I have a passion for learning about and experiencing other cultures and am so excited to share this passion with the world. I currently live in the United States, but have lived abroad for several years, where I taught local elementary students, and have spent extended time in various countries all around the world.
I hold a M.Ed. Degree in Early Childhood Education, received National Board Certification, and have certifications in Elementary Leadership and Administration, as well as Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I was also the recipient of the Fulbright Scholar Award, which included a six week educational trip to Ghana, West Africa, where I was able to teach local students, provide professional development training for teachers, and experience the culture of the country.
In addition to writing, traveling, and educating youth, I love spending time with my husband and two sons, reading, cooking, and trying new foods.

“Ace, Grace, and the Flying Suitcase Visit Jamaica” is the first book in the Ace and Grace Travel Books series. Jamaica was chosen to be the first book in the series because of my family ties to Jamaica and my extreme love for the island. Additional titles in the series, highlighting other countries around the world, will be available soon.
